Cacti are native to the Americas, from Canada to Chile and Argentina.The only exception is the mistletoe cactus (Rhipsalis baccifera), which is also found in Africa, Madagascar, and Sri Lanka. Cacti are well-adapted to dry environments and can be found in arid and semi-arid regions around the world.They are known for their thick, fleshy stems and spines, and store water in their stems to survive in hot, dry climates.
